The President of the Ashanti Regional Branch of Tertiary Students’ Confederacy of New Patriotic Party (TESCON- NPP,ASHANTI), Mr Nelson Owusu Ansah has called on all NPP members especially serial callers and radio commentators to desist from acts that have the potential of dividing the party.

This is contained in a press release issued by the president on August 9, 2010. In the document, he calls for a spirit of unity and also advises members to be decorous in their utterances.

“ This is the period we need everybody on board, if we are to achieve the common vision of rescuing power from NDC and make Ghana a better place to live”, the statement indicates.

Mr Ansah congratulated the party executives, rank and file, and all members of the NPP for a successful primary which he describes as unprecedented in the annals of Ghana and Africa. The TESCON leader hailed Nana Akuffo Addo and pledged his support and the support of TESCON towards the agenda of capturing power in 2012.

The press release goes further to state that, “You[Nana Akuffo Addo] have proved to Ghanaians and indeed the whole world that given this second opportunity you can rescue power from the NDC and deliver the country from the economic misery that has bedeviled it.

We in TESCON and Ashanti fully support the overwhelming endorsement that you have received from the delegates and wish to state that we are ever ready to mobilize our forces behind you as we journey to capture power in 2012”.

He concluded by acknowledging the other four aspirants for the courage with which they went into the competition, inspiring them not to give up.

” Your participation has greatly enriched the internal democracy within the party and has unveiled the potential and the quality human resource base in the party. Don’t give up! Persistence pays – as Nana Akuffo Addo has done”.
