The communities are Sirigu, Mirigu, Kandiga and Nabango, all in the Kassena-Nankana West District.
The communities are arguing that since they are under the Kassena-Nankana West District, they did not understand why they should be coded under the Kassena-Nankana East by the GSS.
At a Press Conference held in Bolgatanga at the weekend, the leaders of the communities, led by Atasige Roger, said they made their grievances known to the Regional Statistical Service Directorate, but nothing was done about it.
They alleged that it was a ploy by the Kassena Nankana East District to create a Municipal status, stressing that, they were equally demanding a District of their own and would not be part of Kassena-Nankana East.
They called on the GSS to intervene and resolve the issue, by recoding the area to stand independently, or else they would not be part of the exercise, stressing that, the chiefs and people of the four communities have already taken a firm decision, since the Regional Statistical Service was not yielding to their demands.
Meanwhile the Regional Statistician, Mr Festus Manu, has said that, it is too late to re-zone the area at this crucial time and appealed to them to allow the exercise to go on successfully.
He however said the enumerators for the four communities would be selected from Kasssena West and not from Kassena East as previously planned.
Meanwhile all indications shows that the people of the region are anxiously waiting to patronise actively in the national exercise.
