He said the abusive language and character assassination would not attract floating votes and could bring negative results.
Dr Arthur Kennedy, who was the Communications Manager in the 2008 Campaign, said this at the inauguration of the Central Region Youth Wing of the party at Winneba, at the weekend.
He said it would be good to stress on the failure of President John Evan Atta Mills’ Administration to Ghanaians instead of insulting him or any other members of the National Democratic Congress.
The leading member asked the youth to intensify their house-to-house campaign to explain the good policies of the NPP to the people and the failure of the NDC to fulfil its campaign promises to Ghanaians.
He said it would be better for the campaign team to tell Ghanaians about the incompetence of the NDC and what the NPP could do to improve their living standard when voted into power.
Mr Mike Ampong, Greater Accra Regional Communication Director of NPP, who inaugurated the 30-Member Youth Wing on behalf of the National Chairman, Mr Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, said the youth were the bedrock of the party.
He stressed that there was no way NPP could win power without them.
He asked Ghanaians to reject the NDC in 2012 election because it had failed to deliver.
All the social interventions created by the NPP-led Government had collapsed, he said, and asked the people of Ghana to give back power to NPP to continue with its good policies and programmes to alleviate their suffering.
Mr Ampong expressed concern about the huge sums of foreign loans the government had contracted within two and half years in office, saying it would saddle the nation with huge debts.
He stressed that NDC-led government had failed to stem out massive corruption that had bedevilled the country, saying that it had lost focus on the energy sector leading to frequent LP gas shortage.
Mr Yaw Adomako Baffie, a member of the Patriot Wing of the party, asked the government to move fast to stop drug barons from using Ghana as their transit points.
Mr Danquah Smith, Central Regional Chairman of NPP, appealed to the youth to conduct the campaign in a clean manner devoid of intimidation and insults.
