The head of God’s Way International Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim and two others who allegedly vandalized the premises of Hot FM, an Accra-based radio station, on have been granted bail to the tune of 50,000 Ghana cedis each with two sureties by an Accra circuit.
Obinim, 33, Kingsley Baah, 25, and Kofi Akwetey, 35, all pastors, were alleged to have caused harm to two broadcast journalists of Hot FM.
They were charged with conspiracy, causing harm and damage, the accused persons pleaded not guilty.
The court ordered that the sureties should be people of substance.
Obinim’s followers jubilated when the court granted bail to the accused persons.
Some were seen kneeling on the ground raising their hands to thank God for the bail while others hugged themselves.
They are to reappear in court on August 30.
Accra regional crime officer, Superintendent Emmanuel Frank Adufati told Citi News that the counsel for Bishop Obinim pleaded with court to grant his client bail to pursue an out of court settlement with HOT FM over the incident.
