The Techiman Municipal Assembly last Wednesday cut the sod for work to begin on a one storey Administration/library block project for the Techiman Senior High School.
The contractor, Samuel Oforikumah of Belly-Eff Company Limited who was on site said he would ensure the project is completed in twelve months.
He also promised to give the Municipality value for money as only the best materials would be employed in the construction of the building to ensure that the building lasts long enough to serve its purpose.
Hon. Alex Kyeremeh, the Municipal Chief Executive who was at the site said he was very enthused about the project and would do anything within his means to ensure that the project is completed within the time stated.
He cited the recent termination of a contract involving the construction of an Assembly block building for the Techiman Senior High School (TESS) as a clear message to all contractors that laziness, shoddiness and unnecessary delay will not be tolerated. The contract is in the process of being re-awarded to a more competent contractor who could have the job done well and on schedule.
The project according to Hon. Alex Kyeremeh, is in response to an appeal made to him by the headmaster of the school concerning the bad state of the current administration block.
Work is also seriously ongoing regarding the construction of two (2) two-storey dormitory blocks for boys and girls. The construction of a six –unit classroom block as well as the supply of furniture constitute the projects the Techiman Senior High School has benefitted from since the assumption of office of President John Evans Atta- Mills.
